FAQ

What is Leasing?

You hire a vehicle for an agreed period of time at a fixed monthly rate. When it comes to the end of the contract, you give the vehicle back.

Pros and Cons of Leasing
  • You're always getting a new vehicle at the beginning of a contract.
  • You can drive a vehicle that you may not be able to buy outright.
  • You won't be left with a vehicle that depreciates every year you have it.
  • You will be required to pay an early termination fee if you cancel the contract early.
  • An excess mileage fee will be applicable if you exceed your agreed annual mileage.
  • Any damage incurred that is NOT "fair wear-and-tear" will be payable by you.
What does Leasing Include?
  • A brand-new vehicle of your choosing.
  • Free delivery to the UK MainlandManufacturer's warranty
  • 12-month Road-side Assistance
  • Most of our leasing contracts include road tax for the entire duration of your lease agreement. Certain contracts may only include the first year's road tax but this is something our account managers will more than gladly discuss with you.
What if the car breaks down?

All our leased vehicles come with a full manufacturer's warranty and 12-month roadside assistance.

What is the average contract duration?

Speak to your account manager as contract lengths may vary. Our most popular contracts are 24-months – 36-months but we will be looking to extend this to be able to offer 12-month or 48-month contracts in the future.

Are all leased vehicles new?

All leased vehicles that we offer are brand-new. If we have a vehicle that has had it's contract terminated early then we may offer it out to our customers but we will make it very clear that it is a used vehicle.

Can I use a personal number plate on my leased vehicle?

Yes, you can. It will need to be removed and replaced with the original number plate before returning. Talk to your account manager for more information.

Do I need to insure the vehicle/s?

Insuring your car or van is something you will have to arrange yourself. We inform you of the delivery date of your vehicle so that you can prearrange your insurance.

Like any other car or van on the road, you must be insured, and under fully comprehensive cover throughout your term when leasing a vehicle.

What if I exceed the agreed annual mileage?

There is an excess mileage charge applicable for each mile that you go over the agreed annual mileage stated in your contract and this amount is detailed on the original vehicle order form.

Can I end the lease early?

You can end the lease agreement early but there will be an early termination fee. Speak to your account manager for more information.

What if the vehicle needs a repair?

If the vehicle needs to be repaired due to damage caused prior to delivery, as long as this has been documented on the original delivery note, contact your account manager and send any images of the damage along with a copy of the delivery note if available. Your account manager will then refer this to the supplier/logistic company and manage the process on your behalf.

If the vehicle needs to be repaired due to damage incurred whilst in the possession of the bodyshop, then you can repair the vehicle as long as repaired with manufacturer parts and methods and it meets the BVRLA standards.

How often do I need to service the vehicle?

The responsibility of servicing the vehicle lies with yourselves, please refer to the Service Intervals document for when this is required based on the make and model of the vehicle.

What happens if the vehicle is involved in an incident?

The claim should be directed to the policy holders' insurers as long as their insurance was transferred over to the vehicle if this applies under the SLA you have with your work providers. If the policy holder is not covered by their own insurance, you will need to direct the claim to your motor fleet insurers. Should we not able to recover the costs due to any omission of detail, or act, by the driver or yourself, you may become responsible for the outstanding costs. Please see the Claim Process Map for further information.

What happens if the vehicle is a Total Loss?

Please use the Claim Referral Form included within the lease pack and email this to drive@vizionetwork.co.uk to notify us of the incident. The claim should then be directed to the policy holders' insurers as long as their insurance was transferred over to the vehicle if this applies under the SLA you have with your work providers. If the policy holder is not covered by their own insurance, you will need to direct the claim to your motor fleet insurers. Should we not able to recover the costs due to any omission of detail, or act, by the driver or yourself, you may become responsible for the outstanding costs. A settlement figure will be provided, and this will need to be confirmed to the insurance company. If there is any disagreement of the car value, you will be liable to pay the difference.

Please note the lease fees and insurance of the vehicle remains your responsibility until settlement has been paid in full to the vehicle funder.

What happens if a vehicle is stolen?

If the car is stolen, firstly notify the police and complete the necessary crime report with them. Once you have the crime reference number, notify your insurance company and your account manager at Vizion Drive by completing the Claim referral form and emailing to drive@vizionnetwork.co.uk

It's important to stay in touch with all parties until either the car is recovered or confirmed as written off or unreturned.

A settlement figure will be provided, and this will need to be confirmed to the insurance company. If there is any disagreement of the car value, you will be liable to pay the difference.

What happens if the vehicle is impounded by the police pending investigation?

Until the vehicle value has been settled with the finance provider all lease fees remain payable even if the vehicle is impounded. Insurance MUST remain in force until the claim has been settled in full. Storage costs may be covered by the insurers of the person at fault if a crime has not been committed, but this will be on a case-by-case basis.
