The Government's Buying the First Round.... (of EV Charging)

You know that feeling when the government actually gives you money and it makes business sense? No, it's not a trap. It's the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) – and it's here to help you - future-proof your fleet, impress your ESG board, and make your car park look like it belongs in 2030.

What's the deal?

The UK Government is dishing out up to £350 per EV Charging socket to help businesses, charities, and public sector bodies install EV charge points on their premises. You can claim up to 40 sockets per business. That's £14,000 of charger cash – not bad for a country that just taxed your meal deal.

Whether you've got a single Nissan Leaf or an army of BYD's, this scheme is a no-brainer

Who qualifies?

Got a Companies House number and a car park? Great. You're basically halfway there. No need to run a fleet of Teslas or be carbon-neutral since birth. It's open to most UK-registered businesses.

The only real requirement? You must own the premises or have landlord permission and install through an OZEV-approved installer. (Don't worry – PowerDrive is one.)

Why should you care?

Let's be real – fleet electrification is no longer a someday conversation. It's here. It's fast. And it's going to be expensive if you leave it too late.

Pro tip:

Pair this with solar panels (yes, there's a grant for that too), and suddenly your depot becomes a self-sufficient, grid-smashing, eco-warrior HQ.

So what's the holdup?

This isn't a fence you want to waste time sitting on– this grant is only available until end of March 2026

You've got the space. You've got the vehicles (or will soon). And now, you've got £14,000 worth of reasons to start plugging in.
